We are not going to talk about the past month, no we are not. Suffice it to say there was sniffling, there was fever, there were aches and pains, and then...well, the objective information from the National Weather Service is that the first six days of June were both the coldest and the rainiest in Ukiah since records were kept sometime in the 19th C. No we are going to talk about how good it feels to have a breeze on bare arms as one tricycles home from work, about how good it is to create beds from straw and fresh soil and place small flowering plants in them while the sun pours down and your ears are full of the happy sound of honeybees and bumblebees, and about fledgling black phoebes sending their parents into fits of hawking insects from the yard. We are going to talk about the scrub jay bringing its two fledglings over to meet the grocer, with all of them hollering at each other and how they are such gawky kids one of the young'uns almost fell off a limb above my head. There are photos of many things at http://www.flickr.com/photos/zanshinart/
